April 8 -
We need 1-2 people to organize the readers and the snack. We are looking for possible readers and groups or people to sponser the snacks for future dates. Contack a PIE member if you're interested in March or April dates.
2 - Online safety night - Lori Rabenberg and Sheila Anderson did a really nice job. We had about 7 parents attend. Worth going to!
3- Braves Bravo postcards - Laura has them ready and for now they are available in the offices at the school. Laura sent a nice note to the staff so they are aware they are there to use and that we are available to send some out if they need us. We hope to expand this program as we see the need and figure out what is the best system.
4 - Movie popcorn for the K-6 students - Fun day! Thanks to those who contributed and helped out!
5- Healthy snack machine at the school - still working with the student council to see where that will go. They are all for it but need to figure out details. We are here to support them as they need.
8 - Healthy foods at school - We have discussed working with the school, maybe in a committee format, to research ideas that are out there and working for implementing heathlier and possibly more local foods into the school lunch program. PIE believes it is important. Anyone able and ready to work with the administration and school board to create this committee/idea, let me know.
9 - Summer packets for students - we decided we need to start with the Kindergarten class and hopefully get a few K parents to work with Mrs. Richter and Mrs. Zuehlke to created a fun packet of info and websites for the K kids this year. Kari Furman as already got some ideas. We are hoping we can start on that now that we have some full weeks of school and more regular schedule.
10 - Winter celebration - We are considering working with the Ketchup and Relish day in April rather than a separate Winter Celebration this year.
11 - Grandparents Day/Adopt a Grandparent Day!- end of April, after testing, chance for students to showcase their work and their classroom, possibly have small activities going on in each classroom in the afternoon, with a snack for everyone and a mini program at the end of the day. Possibly a Friday so long distance travelers might be able to make it more easily.
Need to plan in March! Gather your ideas!!!
12 - Spelling Bee - No specific date yet.
